Inception Movie Review

Have you ever imagined what it would be like to have a good idea for an invention that you could then sell the patent to make millions? All it would take is one. Well, if she did come up with a million dollar idea and someone decides they want to take from you enter into your subconscious and brain and extracting the idea or thought from you? This is precisely the premise of revolutionary and thought provoking movie from the beginning.

I posted the above definition of birth for you because if you're like me, you probably don't know what this word means or how it could possibly relate to this film. Well, not only is Dom Cobb, played exceptionally well by Leonardo DiCaprio, a thief, but in this film is given the task of birth or placing an idea in someone's mind, without them knowing it was not an original idea of their own. Sounds complicated, eh? Well it is not. The mind is a powerful thing. Perhaps the most powerful thing in the world and just imagine if people used more than ten percent most scientists say that we use daily. Now, think of dreams. Have never had a dream that seemed so real that wondered if it was really a dream if they really lived in the real world? So you could live your dreams with you what happens if you draw people in your dreams? This film takes place mostly in the mind and makes you think about things that can be created from the mind ethical, psychological and fantastic.

I saw this movie on Sunday and I'm still thinking about it and trying to wrap my head around everything that I saw. There are many movies that stay with you, hours, days or even weeks after you have seen them. How many times you can see a movie want to see again, only to carry it around and try to capture any clues or details that you might have missed? Like many filmmakers working today that doesn't dumb down their script or story just to make it easier for the public to understand what is happening? I, as a moviegoer, I want to go see movies that challenge me and make me think. I also want to see films that are completely original and show you things never seen before. This is that movie!

I can't really speak too much on specific because it is better to go in knowing nothing about the film. I can only say that this is definitely one of the top five films I've seen this year and maybe one of the best movies I've ever seen. This is a film where all participants are playing at the top of their game. By Christopher Nolan, Leonardo DiCaprio, Ellen Page, Ken Watanabe, Hans Zimmer, Marion Cotillard and Wally Pfister, each of them contributed to an almost perfect movie. I am confident that the Academy Awards remembers this film came the time of appointment. Do yourself a favor and check out this movie and see if you can stop thinking about it after you left. I can't wait to see it again and I wonder if this is what they wanted me to do all along.

Movie review-Legend (1986)

Legend

Starring Tom Cruise, Mia Sara, Tim Curry

Directed by Ridley Scott

Written by William Hjortsberg

The filmmakers behind the legend certainly know their legends. In 90 minutes short of hypnotic visual excess, they deliver a virtual compendium of the history of fantasy literature.

The genre in question is that of the heroic quest. In very schematic, the heroic search generally goes something like this: the natural balance between good and evil is tipped in favour of bad after some particularly nasty turn of events; our intrepid hero is subject to a series of adventures in which he (or, increasingly, you) of excruciating and his companions are growing in strength and wisdom; These adventures will culminate in a climactic battle between the forces of good and evil where good triumphs over evil and all is well in the world/country/Kingdom/city/village/shoebox once again.

The genus precedes Homer at least several millennia, and more recent examples abound. The search for the Holy Grail was certainly a heroic mission, like the wizard of Oz by Baum, the Lord of the rings Tolkien, ad infinitum.

The legend is yet another child, a child fully aware of its grand heritage. The specifics of the story are of little importance, but here are in any case, for the curious: the natural balance between light and dark is tipped in favour of the Lord of darkness (Tim Curry) after the Horn was cut off from one of two remaining in the world of unicorns; Jack O' The Green (Tom Cruise) is subject to a series of harrowing adventures in which he and his companions are growing in strength and wisdom; These adventures will culminate in a climactic battle for Horn and the future of the world, a battle between Jack and darkness where Jack triumphs over darkness and everything is good in the world once again.

You had to ask.

The entire film is sprinkled with subtle (and some not-so-subtle) tributes to past work in the field. There is a scene where Jack plunges into a river for a ring, recalling the discovery of a ring of Sauron from Deagol, friend of Gollum, in Middle-Earth Tolkien's great river. One of Jack is then saved from evil darkness kitchen after being constrained within a pie crust for cooking; Hansel and Gretel would definitely have sympathized with her plight. Towards the end of the image, true love by Jack, Lili (Mia Sara), it was awakened by a kiss in sleeping beauty. The entire film resonates with allusions to The Last Unicorn by Peter s. Beagle (as well as other accounts of those mythical beasts equestrian). Convincing parallels could draw between legend and Jim Henson fantasy feature, The Dark Crystal. And, well, you get the idea.

Vast magical unicorn, a central theme in legend, is a highly pervasive myth in most human cultures. Unicorns were known to the classical Greeks and Romans, and examples can be found in Christian, Jewish, Hindu and also ancient Chinese mythology. If they were cruel, vicious creatures originally and indomitable, unicorns became (at the beginning of the middle ages) kind symbols of Christ. The unicorns of the legend are like the latter, drawn by Lili's innocence and virginity. It is through this attraction, their mortal weakness, that the servants of the Lord of darkness are able to get the magic Horn.

But the plot is not strong suit of the legend. Far from it. Visual style is Virtuoso Director Ridley Scott who capture and enchant his audience in a way that can match a few movies. Scott the duellists, previous image, Alien and Blade Runner (visual masterpieces in their own right) were mere exercises for warm-up that he evokes images. There are images in the legend that take up permanent residence in your memory, haunting for years to come, are bedeviling with their bright colors, their delicate interplay of light and shadows. This film is so damn good to look that is almost frightening.

Why not make mistakes legend for a great movie, though, rest assured it is not Beautiful, Yes;. great, no. First of all, this movie is in desperate need of some intelligent spirit. Although screenwriter William Hjortsberg (Angelofalling) knows his imagination, his script is full of sophomoric humor. At one point, a goblin Gets the seat of his pants and dances around fried for a few seconds hilarious before dousing himself with water. Yuck, yuck. Cackle, cackle. Probably there is a scene of pie-in-the-face around somewhere on the cutting room floor as well.

The performances are all relevant, but as the Lord of darkness who shows Tim Curry. He plays his bad (a Minotaur of sorts, brilliantly created by Peter Robb-King and his crew makeup) with the charm and the fury. Tom Cruise makes a convincing but not particularly memorable, as the hermit in the forest, Jack. The rest of the cast moves the plot along without a hitch.

A few words are probably in order for the story of the legend itself. Originally intended as a summer ' 85 release, Universal balked at its high cost and competition (from smash, escape back to the future, no doubt). They then made the kind of thing I have tried with the cut of Gilliam: Brazil, more than two hours to about one and a half. The soundtrack by Jerry Goldsmith was thrown out in favor of one from Tangerine Dream. In general, universal (as always) never was quite sure what the hell he was doing.

Most of the changes seem to have done little damage to finished product. The shorter version, closer is probably best for his brevity, and the score really does not detract from the film's highly visceral appeal.

So what becomes a legend most? If you are curious to sneak a peek at this one. It's well worth the price, and could be in for a fascinating experience that won't soon forget.

Scariest movie ever to hit our screens

As Halloween approaches and let's take a look at some of the scariest movies that have hit our screens. There is nothing better than to dim the lights down a cold winter's night with a hot cup of tea or cocoa and put up a scary movie. The horror film recently took a left fold and are now much darker than they used to be.

The Texas Chainsaw Massacre
Both the original and the remake of this film are impressive; It adds more than an intimidating factor, because you know that in reality is based on a true story. From the moment the film begins, you may feel a lot of tension. This must be one of the all time great horror film.

The sixth sense
The movie did really promotes itself as a horror, but when you watch this chilling, give you that feeling that we would have guessed that Bruce Willis was dead after all? I never did.

Nightmare on Elm Street
Probably one of the first scary movie that I watched in reality and the guy was scary in it's hey day. I still remember the saying "Remember, not running in the hallway".

Scream
I think the film cry is what brought a whole new genre of horror films. The climax "That fact" has been amazing, but has since been used so many times that you really know what to expect, was another version I know what you did last summer, which was also big in its day.

The Exorcist
Probably labeled as one of the scariest movies of all time, the Exorcist offers a chilling horror supernatural; decades after his people the creation of the world still flock to see him.

Omen-the omen
Another very scary film, the remake brought history to life and had some moments, which were filled with fear of adrenaline very funny.

Psycho
In all honesty, I think that the remake was far better than the original version of the film on this occasion. It introduced fear in staying in a motel room.

Jeepers Creepers
Well I have mixed reviews on this, some people say that is awesome, but I think this was a way overrated. When I first saw this, the opening scenes were great, never knew what to expect. But then this hideous monster appeared and was kind of funny, because people were waiting to be a real human being.

Hostel
A little more gore horror, but this movie was a big shock, who would have thought that would get people brought all the way from Amsterdam to a village in the middle of no where. Very scary.

There are many more horror films that have hit our screens that should be worth a mention as fast as The Haunting, Poltergeist, The Shining, Halloween, The Vanishing, don't Look Now "Chucky, The Ring, the grudge and many many others.

Recent films to enjoy

Amo to sit inside a dark film, Munch a handful of popcorn and I lose myself in an imaginary world filled with colorful characters and inventive dialogue. While many films end up being a disappointment, pleasant surprises more than make up for it. Because you can not have more time to devote to the movies as I do, I put together a list of recent films worth seeing. Some of these should be available at your local multiplex, while others require a trip to a theater that shows independent and art films. But in both cases, these selections should restore your faith in the art of cinema.

Winter's Bone (2010)-sure to be a favorite during the season of winter's bone, Oscar stars Jennifer Lawrence as a resident Ree Dolly carried Ozark. Forced to care for his younger brothers and mother incapacitated, Ree doesn't even have time to attend school. While she hunts for food, hides it and dreams of running away to join the armed forces, she receives some bad news: his father meth-treat got arrested, put on the farm of family on how to deposit and then skipped town. If he doesn't show up at Court, and his relatives are Ree without a home. In the absence of a car or a mobile phone, takes to the Woods on a dangerous mission to find her father and bring him back in time for the process.

Let Me In (2010)-A 12-year-old bullied (Kodi Smit-McPhee) befriends the new girl across the Hall (Chloe Moretz), but it turns out that she is an ancient vampire who may not even be a girl at all. The two outsiders form a link, one that threatens to doom the boy's soul forever young. A brilliant remake of Swedish film Let the Right One In.

Never Let Me Go (2010)-based on the novel by Kazuo Ishiguro, this film blends drama and romance with a science fiction element. Carey Mulligan, Keira Knightley and Andrew Garfield play three friends who deal with life and love while growing up in an isolated community. I don't want to spoil the surprises of the movie, so let's just say that the world has found a new inventive method for organ transplants.

City (2010)-Ben Affleck serves as both star and Director in this film about a robber who begins an affair with a woman who once held prisoner (Rebecca Hall). He plans to leave the criminal life behind, but he gets pulled back in a robbery last from his old friend (Jeremy Renner) and a local crime boss (Pete Postlethwaite). Jon Hamm (Mad Men) co-stars as a tenacious FBI agent.

History of Tillman (2010)-This powerful documentary takes a look at life and controversial death of Pat Tillman, former NFL football player who gave up millions of dollars to serve his country in the aftermath of 11 September. Attention is paid to death under fire, the concealment of the next Government and search for the truth of his family.

Get low (2010)-Robert Duvall is at its best cantankerous as Felix Bush, a hermit who emerges from seclusion for the purchase of a funeral of "live" for himself. Bill Murray is the owner of the funeral home and Lucas Black is his young Assistant. The entire city is invited to come and share the stories you have heard of Felix over the years, but the elder also has a history of their own to tell. Sissy Spacek co-stars.

Speed Racer-family movie review

Mama movie Rating: 3.5 of 5

Starring: Emile Hirsch, Christina Ricci, Matthew Fox, Susan Sarandon, John Goodman

Director: Larry Wachowski, Andy Wachowski

Duration: 2 hours 15 min.

MPAA Rating: PG for sequences of action violence, some language and brief smoking.

Genre: Comics, science fiction, sports

Speed Racer (Emile Hirsch) breathes, eats and lives of motor racing. With his trusty Mach 5, speed is at the top of his game, winning the race after race, and start getting noticed by sponsor. When he turns down the offer from big-time conglomerate Royalton Industries, professional racing speed learns that are controlled by the sponsors-also the results of the Grand Prix are fixed. Not only that, but takes his revenge Royalton on family business Racer, hoping to destroy them. In order to change how the game is played and save his family inheritance, speed must risk his life most fierce competitors in the race in the world-the same one that claimed the life of his older brother many years before.

I must admit, I wasn't too thrilled to see this movie. After that the Wachowski brothers for the Matrix sequels, I was sure if he could win back my admiration. But only ten minutes, I was turning my husband saying: "you know, I really like this so far." He agreed with me. And as the movie progressed, we found ourselves laughing, snatch, also repeated several times that the film was better than we expected.

The first thing to grab our attention was of course the bright color palette. The Wachowski brothers filmed almost all actors against a back-drop green screen, which then filled with an incredible world of color, excellent, stunning animation and cartoon film. Using techniques that are guaranteed to be anything you've ever seen on screen before. Now the bar has been raised for special effects.

Speed Racer is a thrill ride for anyone who loves comics, video games, racing or NASCAR, kung fu, gangster film or anime. It's almost like Mario Kart on the big screen. The scenes with Spritle (Paulie Litt) and Chim Chim (his trusty chimpanzees) really put in mind of a child and are really funny. The races are so spectacular that had a nice kids (and adults) in the audience shouts out, "Cool"!

If you've heard that reviews of the film bright colors and psychedelic effects make you nauseous or give you a headache, I am here to tell you that I received none. (Actually I have a raging headache from The Bourne Ultimatum last year with his constant jerky motion pictures-if your stomach that, then Speed Racer should be a problem.) The Wachowski brothers disbanded the racing scenes quite so you don't have a constant blur and there's enough plot going on outside the actual events that help maintain a nice rhythm.

PRO

The most touching part of the film is the heart to heart talks that Pops Racer (John Goodman) and Mom Racer (Susan Sarandon) share with their son, speed. The family unit is very strong and important in this film, and POPs and their mother be sure to encourage speed and tell him I love him.

Speed and his girlfriend, Trixie (Christina Ricci), have an admirable ratio, both making good role models for our children. There is no Kiss until the end, speed is a perfect gentleman around her and their relationship involves doing more than just off as other couples teen movie. Trixie supports and encourages the speed does not matter what without being manipulating. They spend a lot of time with his family, and in essence, she was a part of the family since grade school. There is an underlying theme that Pops Racer married his best friend, and it seems that the speed is following in the footsteps of the same-a great lesson for young men in the audience.

Another theme of the film is standing for what is right, even if you think you don't have a chance. Speed Racer, going against the great magnates of industry ran is sort of the story of David and Goliath. The lesson is: money and greed comes anywhere, but he does love and family.

Finally, some critics have said that the movie is not faithful to life-personally, I'm glad it isn't! I think that if they were not provided for by that apparent comic book or video game world, children would be more inclined to imitate the bizarre things that they see on the screen.

CONS

Here are some things that parents should be aware before they venture theatres:

There are some comics/gangster-as violent as Piranha bite out of some frightening chases someone's finger and lots of action shoot-em-up.

As the rating of PG, I'm a little disappointed by the content of crude was allowed to slip by. There are a handful of words curse, even young Spritle someone gives the middle finger and an opponent to run all called "assholes". Chim Chim throws his own excrement at one point, and gets kicked an opponent in the groin (both received thunderous laughter from children in the audience).

There is also a fair bit of sensuality in the film. I was hoping a PG film should include racing stigma "hot babes and cars", but unfortunately, the Wachowski brothers thought that they had to throw it. There are several angles sensual, some women wear shorts indecent and very low cut tops and at one point, a woman wearing what appears to be a swimsuit steps ahead, resulting in a half-naked ass cheek by filling an important part of the screen. The film would have been better without these unnecessary distractions.

Part of the plot involves the stock market, which could be over the heads of children, but you should understand the general idea played. And the film jumps back and forth between the past, present and future-this also might be difficult for some younger viewers to follow.

OVERALL

In my personal opinion, this movie should really be rated PG-13. Had a material much more unpleasant than Nim's Island, which recently was rated the same. Having said that, here is a word of advice: go to the theatre with an open mind. Just might be surprised at how love this flick.

The last film shot in South Africa

South Africa has become a favourite destination for film crews shooting on location production in recent years. But while the Cape Town and its surroundings were used for the top advertising and production stills shoots for many years, is relatively recently that large movie productions have begun to use the South Africa regularly as a privileged frame for movie starring Jasmin Tabatabai great attractions like Halle Berry and Denzel Washington, Leonardo DiCaprio.

The last film shot in South Africa is safe house, still in the process of post-production and due for release in February 2012. It stars Denzel Washington as a rogue ex-agent, Ryan Reynolds, as CIA agent protects it and much of it is filmed on location in and around the streets of Cape Town with plenty of exciting action sequences along the scenic coast roads too.

Halle Berry was also in Cape Town recently resumed Dark Tide, a thriller about a diving instructor and close encounters with sharks. Filmed in the town of Simon in winter cold Cape, Halle Berry can still sport a bikini despite the cold. The film is still in post-production and is set to be released towards the end of 2011.

A great success, although with unknowns, District 9, released in 2009, he made headlines as one of the first South African film productions to make it big internationally. While the setting of urban decay and the theme of alien segregated by a Government unsympathetic, it is unlikely to bring tourists flocking, production was the big news for the South African film industry.

Blood Diamond, starring Leonardo DiCaprio and released in 2006, was filmed mostly in South Africa, despite being set in Sierra Leone, mainly due to higher infrastructure available here support this size of filmmaking.

Rumors are rife about the next James Bond film to be shot in South Africa. White paper, which is by Jeffrey Deaver novel Bond, just launched is set and around Cape Town for most of its history and speculation he was shot the next year to release the following year. However this is an unconfirmed, although exciting for cinephiles of Cape Town and Boost potential tourism sector that could come from the glamorous reflection of 007 enjoying cocktails, shaken not stirred, top hotels in Cape Town!

All in all, South Africa and Cape Town in particular are well on the map when it comes to international film industry, with world class infrastructure to support these mega productions.

Transformers 2-filming

People get inspired by beauty, can be in any form. In the film industry, the beauty of a scene is found mainly in the way is captured and its closeness to reality. Although, nowadays most movies are filmed in a studio well constructed, there is no substitute for the original paths. Originality brings beauty and admiration. Similar admiration is expected in the new upcoming sci-fi sequel "Revenge of the Fallen '.

Transformers 2 had shot scenes from the most exotic places on this planet. Egypt, France, Jordan and we were the first positions of shootings. Filming began in California in May 2008. Most of the scenes inside the roof are captured in the Hughes Aircraft company that was acquired by General Motors.

Some scenes are captured at Bethlehem steel in Pennsylvania. Then, there are some scenes that are captured to the Steven f. Udvar-Hazy Center for the new transformer Jetfire, a retired SR-71 aircraft. The June 9, 2008, the team moved to Exelon power plant in Philadelphia and then at the University of Pennsylvania.

Another University who visited then Drexel University where they shot scenes of Sam studying astronomy. The team was seen in the Eastern State Penitentiary for two days. Fairmount Park was another location for the filming of Philadelphia City Hall and was used to cast the beneath the roof scene.

Princeton University was also selected for filming. However, it should be noted here that none of the University allowed the producer to mention their name in the film. The June 30, 2008, the shooting came a temporary setback due to the potential actors ' strike. Some scenes are captured in California for fighting in Shanghai. Tuscan international airport and Camp pendalton are used to show scenes of aircraft.

The shot was made from various production units. The most important and impressive scenes were filmed in Egypt near the pyramids. This is the place where the last scene of the film are filmed. Pyramid of Giza is the most important attraction of the scene. The most important concern was regarding the safety of the team of 150 Americans working at the site along with many local Egyptians. A camera very high was also used in the film in this locality. The team was given permission by the Egyptian Government official. The Jordan is another place where they filmed several scenes of the film.

The team remained for about four days in Jordan and scenes were filmed with the help of the Royal Jordanian Air force. Another attraction of people will witness is the Eiffel Tower in Paris. The second monument that appear in the film is the Arc de Triomphe. Even if the scenes of France have very less time due to the limited time of the film, but the beauty of the locality and its meaning will have a great impact on viewers according to the Director.

The final shots are filmed in the movie are of United States aircraft carrier Stennis on November 2, 2008. Surely, only the results of box office can say if the movie is worth the effort or not. Let the time reveal the truth.

Violence in the cinema

Many people complain about violence in films and on television. Honestly, I don't see much violence being called because I am extremely selective in what I view. I had a discussion with a friend the other day about this topic. Reminded me that I had written an article some time ago and it has tracked down.

Is a true story, which happened in December 1994. With hindsight, this feels more like an experiment planned a happening spontaneously.

I attended three films within a period of seven days. Where I lived in Santa Monica at the time, I had the luxury of being within walking distance of the five films that shows a total of 22 films simultaneously. Most are hot out of the study. (I live in Santa Monica, but a little further away from these theatres).

The first film was "Legends of the Fall," which everyone can admit is violent. As I got to that one is a mystery, because I stayed is more of a mystery. Maybe it was so I could have this experience and tell it.

The second film was "the jungle book," which actually parents take children to see! I found it horribly distorted and violent.

The third was "IQ," a film that I found delightful. Wa that! Walter Matthau is one of my favorite actors of all time. No violence. Probably not many people would say "depth," to which I shrug my shoulders without comment. I went to the movies to be entertained and it was. I have a great depth in my daily work.

So now you know the movie experience. As blood and gore flashed across the screen in "Legends of the Fall", I looked at times and closed my eyes. About three-quarters of the way in the end, advertising that usually appear early began to play. The audience exploded!

Screaming and stomping feet were the norm. In particular a man seemed crazy. He screamed obscenities and could not say more than three words before repeating his favorite word, "f___ ing".

I have never been in a riot, but it felt to me as if one had to happen. I've posted a lot of love and light for the projectionist and the public. Soon the right reel was playing. Oops, no sound. More boos from the audience. Then the sound of the film came in. More whistles to rewind and start again the new coil. Finally, the finished film, although I have no memory.

Some days later, I was out for the second film in a theater .... "Jungle Book", a classic, regarded as a film for children. The audience that day included little boys and girls, accompanied by adults. The children were quite frightened. This was a tense, though, fear not a hilarious one.

Three-quarters of the way through, the film broke. The audience exploded with shouts and screams. The theatre was no longer as crowded as the previous film, or answers no doubt would be multiplied. Soon the film returned to the screen for the final.

Some days later, I attended "IQ" in a third theatre. This is a romantic comedy that require ingenuity of Albert Einstein with broad smiles and hees tee for the public.

Are you ready for this? Three-quarters of the way through, the film broke. Not a sound came from the audience. All sitting quietly, waiting for repair or whatever else was needed. Soon as this happened, and the film played to the end without stopping.

Want something in me that at the end of this article with a statement that sums up the whole experience deep and concise. But something stronger in me just wants to stand on its own--you make of it what you want. Is a true story.

We're going to see a film by Bob Dylan!

Richie Valens, Jerry Lee Lewis, Bobby Darin, Ray Charles and Johnny Cash are just some of the famous musicians who have obtained important Hollywood biopics made about them over the years. While there are many more musicians who deserve their own films, none of them deserve more of Bob Dylan. I've been a fan of Dylan for some years and although his music is something you should just "get", his character and the legend is undeniable.

And Yes, I know that last year, I am there came out and many people feel that a biopic of Dylan. But it wasn't. It was good, artsy films that alluded to certain parts of Dylan, but was not a biopic in the traditional sense. I want to see a photo of Bob Dylan in the mood to toe the line or Ray. Much of his life is still a mystery, and it would be nice to see him play off the silver screen.

The biggest question is how long do you make this film? If you cover every phase of his career 40-plus year, you're going to do a feature-length movie. Normally, I would suggest a film in two parts, but I wonder if the audience to sell a film, not to speak of two movies. Vaguely I think you have to focus on music and spend most of their time to the staff of Bob Dylan; gli amori, medications, friends, etc.

Somehow, you can make the argument that the only way to make Bob Dylan each justice is to make a film as I am not here. Dylan was always evolving and always looking to find out who was/is a film not perhaps is the way to go. But even with that in mind, I'd like to see a biopic. Martin Scorsese engage and make the film. Everyone in Hollywood loves Dylan and always a great cast together should not be any problem.

Of course, to really make this work, it needs to be done in collaboration with Dylan. Now would be a good time to point out that he is not getting any younger and the guy still tour constantly and chain smokes. If Dylan was involved with the film, he could fill in some gaps in his life that need to be told. I think now is the time for him to set the right team and take a picture like this. He has always been fascinated with movies and this would be a nice way to cap off his career more incredible musical of all time.
